Susan Hildreth’s nomination for as the new director for the Institute of Museum and Library Services was passed through a unanimous vote by the United States Senate. The institute is one of the primary sources of federal funding for the nation’s libraries and museums.
Hildreth has had a lengthy career in library and information services. She has served as California’s State Librarian and as deputy director of the San Fransisco Public Library. Currently in Seattle, Hildreth will accept her new title at the start of the New Year for a 4 year set term.
