Open Congress – 112th Congress

Open Congress is a non-profit, non-partisan blog tracking the bills and decisions of the 112th US Congress.

The website is a resource for Bills, Senators, Representatives, Votes, Issues, Committees & The Money Trail (finance spending in Congress). There are also blogs you can follow, groups for discussions as well as the usual social media affiliations (Twitter, Facebook, etc).

The homepage features commentary from the OpenCongress blog, bills in the news, the latest votes are various bills, and featured members of Congress.

The site is open to the public and the information is aggregated from a variety of resources online.

How does OpenCongress work?

  • We continually aggregate all the best information about Congress available across the Web, using automated processes and open-source technology.
  • Then we harness social wisdom, “filtering up” the most-viewed and attention-worthy bills, votes, issues, and people in Congress.
  • With a more user-friendly interface, one-click sharing tools, and “My OpenCongress” social networking features, we facilitate peer-to-peer communication of the most useful information about Congress.
  • Finally, we close the feedback loop with free ways for you to make your voice heard by contacting Congress with questions, analysis, and input. We provide an open platform for individuals and organizations to organize online communities around their political interests.

Open Congress is a project of the Participatory Politics Foundation and the Sunlight Foundation.
