The Santa Clara County Bar Association has elected its 2013 officers.
Steven Haley, an attorney with Groom & Cave in San Jose, is president. He focuses on commercial real estate transactions and litigation and is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law.
Dianne Sweeney, senior associate with Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in Palo Alto, is president-elect. She focuses on complex business transactions, antitrust litigation, trade secret litigation and white-collar crime prosecution support in high-technology markets. She graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1996.
Matthew Poppe, an Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe partner in Menlo Park, is secretary. he focuses on intellectual property litigation including complex matters involving patents, trade secrets, alleged false advertising, license agreements and other commercial disputes. He received his J.D. from University of Chicago Law School in 1994.
Sylvia Perez MacDonald, deputy public defender with the Santa Clara County public defender’s office, is treasurer. She is a graduate of Golden Gate University.
